Ride Buddy is a bicycle recovery and rider-support service operated by Bad Moon LLC ("we," "us"). These terms explain how we use text messages, and apply to riders and drivers who receive texts from our Ride Buddy number.

What we send

We send transactional messages about a recovery you requested, or about driver work you agreed to receive. For example:

  • confirmation that we received your pickup request
  • pricing and the terms you need to agree to before we dispatch
  • a driver has been assigned, is en route, is on scene, or has finished
  • replies to questions you text us
  • for drivers: job reminders and on-call confirmations

We do not send marketing, promotions, or referral messages on this number.

Who we text

We only text a number if one of these is true:

  • you texted our business number first
  • you submitted a pickup or booking request and gave us that number
  • you are a Ride Buddy driver and gave us that number for dispatch

We do not buy phone lists, scrape numbers, or message people who have not contacted us.

How often

Message frequency varies. During an active recovery you may get several messages in a short time. When you have nothing in progress, you will get none.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply. Those charges come from your wireless carrier, not from Bad Moon LLC.

Stopping messages

Reply STOP to any Ride Buddy text and we will stop sending SMS to that number. You may receive one final message confirming it.

Reply START later if you want messages again, or contact us another way to book a recovery.

Carriers

Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Your information

We use your phone number to run the job you asked for: quoting, dispatching a driver, sending status updates, and answering questions. If a driver is assigned to you, we share your number with them so they can reach you, and share theirs with you.

We do not sell your phone number or share it for anyone else's marketing. Our full Privacy Policy has more detail.

Changes

We may update these terms. The current version is always on this page, with the effective date at the top.
